We visited Nottingham recently to experience its rich and colourful history, in particular, its many haunted pubs of which the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is one of its most famous.. Apparently the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is one of 20 inns purporting to be the oldest in England. Prior to this, it's believed that the pub was known as 'The Pilgrim,' though this name is only attested as far back as 1751. This stems from the fact that crusaders and pilgrims alike would likely have stopped in at the inn on their way to Jerusalem.
